A Natural Approach To Lowering Blood Pressure

I've had high blood pressure for twenty years, but I've finally got it under control. As I've mentioned before, the causes are varied and multiple, and each person has a different mix of causes, so controlling it, even with medication, is a challenge.

medication is better now than before, but your goal should be to get your blood pressure to a normal level and not have to use any medication at all. It can be done!

The Silent Killer

High blood pressure is a common condition in today's society. There are many factors which contribute, including stress, poor dietary habits, excess weight, lack of exercise and a lack of good circulation. While your doctor can prescribe medications to reduce your high blood pressure, it's always a good idea to try lowering high blood pressure naturally, unless your blood pressure is dangerously high. If you must take a prescription medication, pass this information by your doctor to see if you can concurrently use some of these solutions as well. A naturopathic physician can readily advise you on any conflicts between herbal supplements and pharmaceuticals.

Garlic Has Medical Powers

Many studies have shown that using garlic alone can produce significant results, on a par with pharmaceutical medications, in the same amount of time! Garlic also addresses high cholesterol issues as well. Let's take a look at some of the ways of lowering high blood pressure naturally, strictly through herbal supplements, improvements in your diet and a few simple lifestyle changes.

Stress Is Also A Factor

Your doctor will probably advise you that reducing stress is an essential component of lowering high blood pressure naturally, regardless of your medication needs. However, doctors are often so busy, they don't spend much time getting into the details of accomplishing this objective. Something as simple as reading a book for an hour or so each day can help you reduce high blood pressure, naturally. Meditation, biofeedback, prayer or simply listening to music are other easy and effective techniques.

Most highly stressed people neglect their own needs for relaxation. This becomes kind of a catch-22 situation. There's always something that must be done and the type A personality just can't stop driving themselves. If this describes you, it's important to realize that if you don't start making time for yourself, you can drive yourself right into a heart attack! So it's essential that you force yourself to kick back every day, for at least one hour.

Where Do We Stand On The December Issue?!!

I can attest to this personally. For twenty-five years I was an advertising salesman for several national magazines. It would be an understatement to say it was a high-pressure business, and, not surprisingly, this is when my high blood pressure problems began. Consider this scenario. You had an annual page quota. And you sold twelve monthly issues per year. Every month was the same selling situation. You had 30 days to sell pages into each issue. Once the issue closed, it was history. If an advertiser was planning to run in the December issue, but there was a delay of some type, if he missed the closing date, the December issue was gone. You might get him to run in the following January or February, but his planned ad for December was gone forever. And you missed your annual quota by one page! It was a tough business. And all this time you had a boss that was putting pressure on you to close the deal and get that December page. No quota, no bonus. Reminds me of David Mamet's movie, Glengarry Glen Ross.(A must see movie for anyone in sales.)
